Read your motherboard manual, and if your mobo came underclocked (like mine, since I bought a nice ghetto fabulous brand), then you can probably switch a few multipliers and get a CPU boost. Although overclocking is popular these days, it's a woefully stupid idea which will eventually kill your hardware (trust me on this one... I've been there). It's kinda like those kids that soup up honda civics with tailfins and rims and all that crap... no matter how hard you try to dress it up, you're still driving a civic.

So, best ways to improve system performance? First, get more ram, and get fast ram (of course, mismatched ram speeds make all your ram run at the speed of the slowest chip, so be advised). Second, get a fast hard disk.
