Simpler note harmony

Hello,
I have a question about simpler - when I load a sample, for example kick drum - does simpler recognise note of the sample and pitch is between all the notes, or does it just pitch the original sample without matching to right keynote?
If not, is there any other instrument which do that?

AFAIK it just maps the sample to C3 whatever the actual note is, although you can use the detune function to correct that. Same with Sampler, although you can change the root note it doesn't recognise it automatically. It would be a nice thing to introduce.
