I think this should have been an update, not a completely new system. But whatever, I can still look cool in white!
Anyone know any clubs you can get into when you're 15?

It is a free version update and it's for all existing Maschine and Maschine Mikro users. It's not a "completely new system" at all. The original controllers work fully with the update (other than RGB color feedback, obviously) because NI maintains software compatibility with all existing controllers.

Lol dude wow you just stated my point. Why make a new controller if it only adds more colors and more pressure sensitive pads?

lol I don't think so, buddy. You said they made a "completely new system" which is not the case. They did a refresh of the existing controller along with the free software update for all existing users. All existing controllers are fully compatible wih the new free update, other than obviously color feedback. The newly revised controller has other improvements besides the pads.

Well I couldn't part with six hundred for muliti colored pads and a big knob, but didin't mind dropping $400 on the MKI. The new MKII features are worth the extra buck in my opinion though, if you play Live.

I think it blows that they don't have a 'hardware only' purchase option. Why would I want to repurchase the whole damn system? I can't just update the controller or add a second one?

They sell the original controller separately. Maybe they'll do the same with MKII hardware.

I couldn't resist. I picked up an mk1. It actually compliments the MachineDrum quite nice.
