what if this is it, live 9 is just an added compressor no one asked for and some minor eq8 adjustments? i think that would be hilarious :P :P :P

I actually really like that theyve started with real functional benefits to the core plugins. EQ, compression, gate. If it does those things well, and its gui benefits the way people interact with it, then major success. What else could you ask for that ACTUALLY might be of greater benefit to mixing and the sound we create? That should always be their priority.

Its not "sexy" I guess - but they arent leading with useless bells and whistles. Which if they did, first thing people would say is - "wtf, didnt ask for this!".

Looks like a video thats part of a set. As it has a "cold" intro I guess.

Credit to them, I like the layout.

Hard to judge if therell be more vids released same day.

Er... What's going on? Was it an accident that this leaked, or are they trying to create some buzz? I think it would have been cooler with some proper teasers.

This smacks too much of "oh my goodness - Apple employee loses iPhone prototype in pub."

Either way; I think we're going to see awesomeness from Ableton in the coming weeks and months; I've got a feeling that the whole interface could be going modular.

It looks great! Finally a big view on the eq. I got adicted to use Fabfilter Pro C and especially Pro Q and Pro L in the workflow, but this will do all the same stuf internally, and then some. Great! The mouse drag treshold line stuf on the gate and the compressor waveform looks very intuitive.

Totally agree with you.

No doubt there will be a bunch more stuff once they properly launch, but it's nice to see them refining the core areas. I don't need any more instruments but I can definitely use a more slicker interface with improved current functions.
Having said that though, The Glue looks like something I would definitely use.

ETA on possible release date? Are we thinking around Christmas?

Interesting looking at that mixer shot envelope posted... look at the returns:
