Everything anybody ever asks for is pilfered from somewhere else. If they didn't copy features, the forum would only bitch even more.

Looks like some nice improvements to some key effects.

I'll be more interested to see what they've done to core program though.

Companies have been running from NAMM. We had a huge conversation about on Cakewalk.com.. Trade shows used to matter, when distribution channels were more important than they are now. Tradeshows are not consumer events, and could easily cost $50,000 or more every time a company shows up.

+1000 for getting rid of back to arrange button, hallelooya...(im sure arrange view is still there, just session would be a huge step backward)

still wonder if this was a leak, or a "leak"
It looks like they combined the record button with the back to arrangement button.

That's what my first thought was too. It'll be interesting to see how they've done that.

Linear, yes, you could be right. No doubt that Trade Shows have devalued as software companies have adopted a more "direct-to-consumer" approach. Still, the Los Angeles NAMM has value to a lot of companies, simply because the entire L.A. Music Industry shows up...no, NAMM isn't a "consumer show", but the exhibitors there know full and well that every L.A. producer of any merit will be there checking out the scene and the new products.

Well, I go off to play a gig and I come back to 7 pages of posts. That should teach me to try to live an actual life rather than spending 24/7 in this forum.

It looks like the transport bars in pics 2 & 4 actually look different. Different alpha versions or customizable transport?

This means pretty much nothing, but....

The last new sub-forum (id=46) that was created was for v8.4.x (first posts were back in July).

Since that, an additional 5 new sub-forums have been added (id=47 through id=51) but are restricted access.

Think it's a safe bet to say that at least some of those are for Live 9 and are probably already in use by the early access testers.

I'm just excited to see any information about Live 9.

I also enjoy reading what idiots speculate about it.
So far not much.

now bring on the session view enhancement videos!

So how long do you think it will be before Apple sues Ableton?

Glad it's coming, nonplussed about the new plug ins. I have mastering quality third party plug ins and unless something major changes in the mix down department in Live I'll stick to using MOTU DP for mix down.

What I'm excited about is new features in terms of performance and composing, the areas that Live excels at! :x
