Live 8 Suite off an acquaintance - $200
Live 9 Standard upgrade - $159

I was offered $299 for Live 9 Suite, but I can't swing it now. After upgrading to 9 Standard it's still $299. Oh well, I got the features I actually need and ability to use Push.

Yup. I also upgraded to Standard. Cannot justifity another 300 bucks to just Upgrade from Standard to Suite.

Whats the current / latest upgrade price for Live 8 Suite > Live 9 Suite???

Does anyone know what the upgrade price is for going from Live 8 Lite > Live 9 Suite?

Have you logged in to your Ableton account?
If you select Live from the top menu you should see upgrade prices at the bottom of the page.

Bought M-Audio Axiom 25 and got Ableton Live 8 Lite with it

Bought upgrade to Live 8 Standard during the time they were offering Live 9 for free before release

Got Live 9 for free when it came out

Eventually, bought Ableton Push for $500 from a cool salesman at my local Guitar Center

Begged Ableton to give me my serial for Live 9 Intro that came with Push so I can use it on my other laptop


I'm waiting for Ableton to have a sale so I can maybe get Live 9 Suite.

I have Live 8 suite now.

My upgrade price to Live 9 Standard would be $159, but with 20% off for the holidays it's $127. (Non-upgrade price for Live 9 Standard would be $359.)

I won't be doing either. I already paid for Suite. What's so new in the "suite" part of it that justifies an upgrade price on top of the Live 9 upgrade price? If they offered an upgrade from Live 8 Suite to Live 9 Suite for $127, I'd do it. But they don't.

Too much maintenance cost on top of Logic X update (or full version) being $200 and Komplete 9 update being $150 (though I won't be doing that unless required for Mavericks, because it contains no new version of any of the titles I actually use -- I don't care about Battery 4). Plus I have to shell out $400 to upgrade my ULN-2. OK I'm done venting.

Anyone know what I could get for a Suite 8 license these days?

You get max for live and the new libraries.

But yeah, the upgrading costs of software adds up quickly one reason I dont limit my self to Live and a pair of soft synths.

Hmm. £87 is not an unreasonable upgrade price. But I'm satisfied with 8.

I'm confused as to why they even show me an "upgrade" path from Suite 8 to Standard 9.

It's also very poor that the comparison chart suggests that Suite 8 --> Standard 9 causes you to lose packs and instruments. I know, I know, there's a post deep in this thread suggesting otherwise, but suppose I need to do a new install? Where will I get the Suite 8 instruments and pack from?

Very bad, Ableton. I'm looking for a new DAW.
