I have LIve 8 Suite + M4L, I'm quoted $239.00 for the Live Suite 9 upgrade.. WTF??????

Your Max for Live license isn't listed? Check again to make sure you're logged in and that you don't have multiple license paths in the account. If that's the case and you still see something missing, then please contact Ableton customer care at

I thought so too, but then I looked under Suite 8 licenses, and it's listed there alongside all the instruments. That is, it's not listed separately from Suite 8. Does that make sense, or should I be seeing Max4Live as a separate license from Studio?

The Live 9 FAQ says you get a €50 discount on the upgrade price if you already own M4L.
I don't own it, my Live 8 Suite to Live 9 Suite upgrade is €249 - so if you've got M4L is well it should be €199.

I just checked mine and mine is also listed as an instrument license. I think having paid USD$300.00 for Max4Live it should be handled differently.. this just isn't right.

That's the price for regular Live, not the suite.

Yes, be careful where you're looking at pricing - if you go to the "Shop" tab, you'll see pricing for Live 8, Suite 8, and Live Intro (8 version). For Live 9 upgrade pricing, please make sure that you're logged in and head to

So can you confirm if the upgrade pricing being shown is correct?
Specifically that it is cheaper to upgrade from Live 8 to Live 9 Suite than from Live 8 Suite (with or without M4L) to Live 9 Suite?
Doesn't seem correct but everyone is seeing it on the new-in-9 page.

If I get the live 9 standard upgrade for 129 €, I guess I will have still my MFL and suite instruments licence?!!!
I would only miss the 50 gb library but I don´t care about that. Is it right?

Saying it again doesn't make it correct. You're reading the wrong box. The $337 price is for the regular version of Live 8. The Live 8 Suite box is on the right side of the page.

David, can you offer some insight as to why Ableton has decided to offer a more expensive upgrade path to Suite 9 for people that already own Suite 8 and M4L?
