APC40 v.s PUSH
APC40 v.s PUSH
Hey Abeltoners,
Saw the new announcement for Live 9, very exciting! Push looks likes an
intriguing device. I was actually about to look into getting an APC40...
So the question is, which is better, an APC40 or Push? Can any APC40
users out there chime in with your thoughts.
Thanks,
Anthony

Re: APC40 v.s PUSH
Currently debating this. I have an APC now, and have always loved it. The Push fixes a couple major issues with it though (adding velocity sensitive pads, the screens, more colors, etc). The only thing I see the APC40 winning on is it's layout for Rack control, but that's a minor thing, especially with the screens showing what the knobs are controlling.

So far I say push. But I'm not going to return my APC40 and wait 5 months! Fuck no!

Re: APC40 v.s PUSH
I see it as a perfect upgrading companion to my APC40.
If I had to choose, I would choose push, it offers SO MUCH MORE, I would hardly miss the faders.
It addresses ALL things that the APC40 was lacking.
Now that I think about it, sooner or later my APC40 will collect dust.

Re: APC40 v.s PUSH
no problem, seems pretty redundant though.
I would consider spending time on something that hasn't been done 100's of times already.
just my 2centz
I'm kinda drunk off the Live 9 info, uber excited, dont mean to to shitty.

Re: APC40 v.s PUSH
Push, will kill APC40 and Maschine..., that's what is going to happen...!
Will not make a lot sense having anything else then Push if you use Live 9.
One small step for a music man but a giant leap for Abekind !

No! I'll never use the Push-App Live 9 !!!

Lots of fucking buttons! Step Sequencing, Browsing, various modes, velocity sensitive pads, better layout (not a-symetrical), LCD screen. Less Laptop mouseclicky, MORE FUN.studiologic wrote:could someone exactly point what the differences are? saying what apc40 lacks push has... what exactly does that mean? or are we talking from a gearlust prospective?
It's just lacking Faders, which makes me think we will see other devices.
This one seems very drum centric, which looks GREAT to me.
Remember, they released the APC40, everyone jumped on it, about 3 months later, LAUNCHPAD.
I see a PUSH and an analogue mixer in my future.

That's what I was thinking at first, but it's just way too much desk space for me when they perform a lot of the same functions.

Re: APC40 v.s PUSH
Well, just load up a picture of the APC40 next to one of the Push; it's pretty self explanatory. The Push has eight encoders to the APC's sixteen. The APC has nine faders + one X-fader, Push has none. Push has a larger grid of buttons, and they're also more versatile. Push has a display giving you the info of whatever controls are in focus. The APC40 is big and bulky; Push is compact, flatter and all around sexier.studiologic wrote:could someone exactly point what the differences are? saying what apc40 lacks push has... what exactly does that mean? or are we talking from a gearlust prospective?
I'm thinking Push will be all you need for a gig.
I don't own an APC, but I do own a Launchpad. As far as I'm concerned, Push is the way to go, unless you *have* to have those faders.
I can't fathom why they didn't make the encoders on the Push ... well, push encoders, though.

The APC40 does very little compared to PUSH.Matt_Quinn wrote:but it's just way too much desk space for me when they perform a lot of the same functions.
Like I said, it's gonna collect dust one day.

over time push encoders can fail.sporkles wrote:I can't fathom why they didn't make the encoders on the Push ... well, push encoders, though.
great idea, still a WIP if you ask me.
