Backpack Suggestions?

I planned on buying a new backpack soon. Now that Push has been announced, I feel I need to take it into consideration in my purchase planning.

I have a few key criteria I am looking for:

- Must fit two laptops
- Must have a flat base so that it sits up on its own
- Must fit Push

- Would prefer it have a side pocket for water bottle
- Would prefer it have a sunglasses pocket or case

Does anyone have backpack suggestions that at least meet the first two musts?

Thanks.

Glenn303 -

How long have you had the Big Namba, and how do you like it? I have one, and I haven't been too thrilled with it. I had to return the first one I bought because the zipper on the main compartment broke - actually, ripped loose from the bag - the first time I used it. To their credit, the company replaced it quickly, but the second one, after very little use, is already showing signs of coming apart, this time where the shoulder strap joins the body. Can't say I'd recommend it.

I have a Vandal and an Arkiv R6 field pack.

Can't recommend them enough. While both have room for Laptop and Maschine, I would probably sugest a large Arkiv Field Pack for most. I have a small one because the Vandal is huge, but the Arkiv has a special laptop sleeve you can purchase and attache to the back, as well as a separate compartment for placing a laptop in the bag itself, which perfectly fits my 15" MBP.

I've had it since 2010 but only used it a handful of times. I mainly bought it because I needed a backpack that could hold a 17in MacBook for a trip to Thailand, and a few other times.

I've been using this for 10 years now and it's been outstanding: http://www.guitarcenter.com/M-Audio-Por ... agpspn=pla

Though you would have to omit either 1 laptop or the push...

I bought a Brenthaven backpack for work in 2004. I've taken it to 4 continents and back and forth to work every day for 8 years, and it barely shows any wear -- there's a tiny tear where I hooked it on something but that's it.

STM do great laptop bags. I have had one for years and has great protection for laptops.
Plus it just looks like a normal backpack, so doesnt look like there is a laptop in there.

^^^ I have this one,..... I tend to think along the lines of '....if I'm going take my gear out of the studio >>> protection > practicality > comfort & easy to travel with....'

some may say its expensive :? , I bought mine when they first came out for $180, if it lasts me 5yrs, it will have costs me $36 per year to tick all my boxes, I can live with that!

I have to agree with Glenn.303 about the Namba bags. I had a similar experience. After one short tour, it showed serious signs of wear around the zippers. I would not have felt comfortable taking it on another trip and relying on it. Namba was cool though and sent me another bad free of charge... But another poorly made bag.

I've since bought the largest Dakine bag I could find. ....not specified for music, but it has a laptop pocket and enough room for an mpc, a 25 full sized keyboard, and a kaoss pad... Plus cables, etc. can't find a link for the exact one, but its served me well on 3 tours and plenty of local use. Looks almost brand new and shows no significant wear. Their stuff is solid.

I use the 15" model, but the 17" one could be better for 2 laptops.
Fits everything i need + some more. Comes with a instant hipster status though..

It also has the sidepockets that can hold a 0.5l bottle, a rolled up news paper and all sorts of stuff..
