The fact they you can edit the notes after converting pretty much makes this topic silly haha.

The whole point is to lay out the structure. Notes up and down relative to each other. And rhythms etc. it makes it super easy to have a starting point to work with. And them transpose, flip, stretch, etc. even if a person can't sing, they are pretty capable of deciding if something sounds More wrong or Less wrong to their ears.

Even babies can sing.. anyone can sing, even if it doesn't sound pleasant, remember it's not the audio quality that matters here, it's the frequency that you're producing with your voice.

And yes as others have said, you CANNOT learn "music theory" in a couple hours. If you're telling me knowing the diatonic scale is music theory then GTFO.

You can still make music without theory, although even a little makes a big difference

if i can just play in my ideas with my primary instrument then swap it to midi and add synths.. ooo awesome!

Not only this, but I the ideas and melodies that I create on piano vs. guitar vs. singing all ended up being constructed differently. So audio to MIDI will not only give me speed of composition but also diversity of creation.
