How do you feel about the new site/forum?

Post by Bizon » Tue Oct 30, 2012 2:20 pm

Most people love the new Live (minus the trolls of course) but how does the general public feel about the site redesigned site and forum?

I know there are a couple of threads about this topic but I want to get a sense of what the actual count for or against is.

Well sir, if you do not care, then why are you posting in this thread?

If you have no interest in the topic, please move along.

The beige has taken over even more today. They added a darker shade even. Oh the humanity.

I think the new site is a great technical feat of responsive web design, though I hate the colour scheme.

The forum is OK now in all cream, 10 times better now than it was with the white and cream glarey combination.
Still, grey was perfect. It's not like it looked dated.

I don't really care but it is weird seeing Ableton signing off such bad design decisions.

I'm guessing Torsten Slama has left to persue his art career.

I have just begun posting in this forum after years of having live. I have a new found respect for the program.I like the colour almost soothing. Is it beige? 8O

The people here seem pretty cool

maybe if you hold a hand over one of your eyes you will notice that the black bars with the white text... and white boxes.. with the black text with the brown text all back dropped by the flesh of naked Europeans... does not define some new color scheme so profound that we will look back 6 years from now and be in awe at the foreshadowing.

why would Ableton want to make the forum look like a theme from Windows 95?

no, it's a bad skin job...

they're working through it. you can see it being dialed down. in the meantime it still sucks. they know it. i know it. you can either admit it, or admit that you like beige themes on Windows 98SE and that you still have a tower painted in one of the tones currently featured at forum.ableton.com during this transition time, which i will forevermore refer to as Ableton's nude phase

^ yeah i guess there's that.

so there is another thread where someone speaking as if they are an Ableton employee logged on and basically says: oh we totally planned all of this... we've taken some advice from users but for the most part this is going exactly as planned.

they were listening when we said all the links are hideously blue, but the rest... why Ableton why?
