This'll be interesting... hopefully people leave the flaming / opinions off this thread.

Should we discount DJ mix compilations? Many are prepared in Ableton but none (that I know of) were bounced out of Ableton as a pre-master. They were all exported as seperate tracks / chunks into a DAW.

I seriously doubt if ANY pro mixes or tracks were mastered from Live.

The first track on Lamb's "Between Darkness And Wonder" was made possible by Live - the finished song was mastered in Nuendo.

i will make a record on live, or at least one mix on an ep to check it out.
i am sure some people have written entire records on live.....
oh no you say!!!! not just on live.
i made a record on one drum machine/a 303 and a friggin dj mixer now thats basic. live shits on that record so i think some people are.
mr a&r man is easily fooled with some trickery, he hears the dull mix and thinks mmm they'll phaten that one up at the cut...( could be v.wrong ! )
but if anyones not embarassed to put up examples i would be fascinated !
god i'm cool and u r not

"4AM Life" was made with Live 4. Finished tracks were rendered then tweaked in Sound Forge. Has had radio play on XFM in the UK so I guess the audio quality is ok? You can hear previews at www.downstreamrecords.com/releases1.htm

Yeah, "Darkness" was done in live and later mastered, Andy from Lamb did a lot of stuff from Between Darkness and Wonder on Live... I think.

Thanks. Yes all done in Live but no midi ins, just VSTis. For me there is no other application that enables you to create and finish something so easily and quickly.

Ableton as a pre-master. They were all exported as seperate tracks / chunks into a DAW.

It doesn't matter, even if the dry out put of the master buss on any given daw ads or subtracts what ever. The resulting master will equal the sum of the out put going through effects chain.
