Neon Indian/Washed Out/Chillwave Snare and Drum Sounds

I've been trying tons of different audio effects combinations on a 707 snare to get that distinct snare sound you hear from Neon Indian or Washed Out. But I haven't been able to succesfully emulate that sound.

Any tips for the snare and drums in general?

washed out is mostly using samples

there is a whole chillwave sample pack, if I remember correctly..by samplemagic i think
