Post by justchris86 » Thu Nov 01, 2012 5:41 pm

Hey every one, Was just checking out the new Akai MPC line up. dont know if there is a thread on this yet but I thought I would bring it up.

Thoughts on the MPC Fly? I think its a cool little tool for on the go. not sure how powerful it is with the processing on the ipad.

I think AKAI went in the right direction with creating the hardware for the iPad, but they didn't add enough features to warrant $299, as I see it now, at least. Might have to wait for a sale.

+Velocity sensitive/tactile feel
+Hardware can be used while plugged
+Charges iPad while being plugged
-No AD/DA Converter (must use iPad built-in line input to sample external)
-No Data wheel/Q-Link (which might be due to size)

Definitely pumped about the application, with the faux-turntable. 8) I'd love to see vinyl simulation in it, too, if it's not already in the works.

I think it's the coolest iPad case ever.
