Existing software for Audio to Midi

I have a program called Notish that I found on KVR sometime ago. It was a homebrew thing (not comercial) so I don't know if it's still available.

As usual Reaper is the answer but, Would be great to get some advice if anyone has used a vst they liked?
Free would be preferred or not an expensive 'professional' studio price.
