Stealth Mode for forum

Post by UnCL0NED » Tue Nov 06, 2012 7:01 pm

With the old look of the forum I could easily check this forum on a daily basis at work. But this new color just attracts too much attention on my 30 inch screen at work. My boss already gave me a disliking look (which he never did when I had this site open before). And one of my colleagues already asked me if I was checking some porn site or something? 8O

Anyway, it would be nice if we could get a "stealth" version of this forum (maybe just a switch button; black and white and grey as it was before was just perfect!)... 8)

ps. I don't want to start a discussion again about what people think of the colors on the new website, etc...

I believe it was Angstrom made a thread showing how to customize the skin of the site so it didn't look so... fleshy.

 it would be possible to style it so it looks like a word document.
I do have other things to do though, but the thread about styling is here

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=185957

it's quite easy to tinker with the colours, although the PHPbb document has the worlds most terrible structure, so nothing is labelled sensibly.

I am a fan of the design of the new website, but the forum is just... extremely questionable color design.

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... mlapalklgn You can set the colours and tell it not to show images if you want.

Angstrom's works in various browsers I think.

This is really cool.

Yeah I know... I've just gotten used to it ;) It's really a luxury problem, because I do resize the window at times, but I often forget. I'm just that lazy!

Funken's solution is clean and simple! Exactly what I was looking for!
Thanks...

On Google chrome: Find a page you want to read > press ctrl+u > press f11. Instantly looks like when you're coding when in fact you're reading a forum
TTKK / NOODLES / iANDALE! / TIGERBEAT6 / HOT & HEAVY etc
