AudioTrap 1.01 - (issue on loading FIXED)

Post by FluffyAudio » Wed Nov 21, 2012 1:28 pm

Hi to all!
I'm Paolo Ingraito, the owner of FluffyAudio
We've recently released AudioTrap, Windows only VST Plugin that could be of great interest for many Ableton Live users.
It's a very simple realtime sampler and slicer.

AudioTrap is a VST tool created to capture a small
“chunk” of audio from your favourite DAW and play
with it in a number of different ways.
Once the chunk of audio is trapped, you can decide
too play it at different pitches or different starting
points: this opens a wide array of possibilities for loop
remixing or time-based effects.
Originally thought as a live tool for glitch music,
AudioTrap is actually a little powerful tool for any kind
of electronic music.

Here you can see a video showing AudioTrap in action.

There's a FREE LITE version on the site for testing and basic functionality on the site.
Here's the manual for more information:
AudioTrap Manual

Price: € 39,00 / $ 49,00

Thank you,
FluffyAudio

Looking forward to hecking this out. I've been keeping an eye out for realtime audio slicers so hopefully this is right up my alley. Thanks!

Thank you. Since I'm also a musician, I was looking for a simple software to manipulate audio in realtime, and I found none (apart some Reaktor stuff and Sugar Bytes' software that works a bit differently). My first aim was to replicate the Alva Noto glitches on Sakamoto playing. I have a project with a friend who played the vibraphone and we are very inspired by Alva Noto's music.

When I saw their show on live, I realized that the piano glitches were previously sampled, and not live-sampled.
But in our project, we found that the results could be much more interesting if the sound is taken live.

Along Live's excellent MIDI clips and looping, there are many effects we can replicate with AudioTrap.
It's also a kind of looper machine with more possibilites (apart for the absence of overdubbing, that is possibile with multiple instances, but we will work on it on next releases).

Fluffy the Raccoon is our lovely little friend who has decided to take a sleep on our site :D

@OzWozEre: we are prepared to face Mac users' complaints :D
This is not ANYTHING against Mac, also because most Live users are on Mac.
There is no Mac version of AudioTrap, yet, but we'll spend some of our resources to look for ways to port it to OSX.
We apologize for this, though.

Ah my friend, you are too kind :)

I have a feeling there is some kinda "Windows Sound/DSP SDK" that you folks use for development that just isn't available on a Mac -- Windows seems to have a much richer development community in this area than what the Mac boys have -- especially when counting all the free Windows VSTs there are out there -- someone needs to create a cross-platform SDK me thinks?

It's a little like being a Mac user in the 90's -- everything was for Windows! hehe :D

Good job on shipping your first product btw, congrats!

There's a crossplatform solution called Juce, based on c++, but I can't stand c++, so I developed AudioTrap on Delphi. Delphi offers incredible versatility on interface programming (transparent menus, animations, ecc), it is fast as C++, if you're able to optimize the core routines in Assembler. On the other hand there are less resources on the web, so most of the work is done from scratch.

AudioTrap - Update 1.01 released.
(LITE version here)
This is an important message since it was impossible for some users to correctly use the LITE version.
We fixed a bug on plugin loading, on some systems, when samplerate was different than 44.1 Khz.

Thank you, we apologize for the issue.
