"Locked" greyed out buffer size, can't do performance test

Post by Schmidi » Fri Nov 30, 2012 12:05 am

Hi, I tried searching here and elsewhere, but the solutions that others have had don't seemed to work. I just wanted to try the Live 8 performance test.

The "buffer size" on the Audio tab of preferences is greyed out and cannot be changed.

I can type 512 in, but it reverts back to 133 immediately. I tried disabling PDC, and there is no change.

I am running Live with a Focusrite Scarlett 8i6. Live 8.3.4 32bit

Thanks for your help,

Schmidi

UPDATE: I just found the preferences.cfg, deleted it, restarted live...no change. Stuck @ 133

Your buffer size won't be controlled by Ableton, it'll be handled by the Focusrite driver - look for a control panel/utility that was installed with the Focusrite, that will allow you to change the buffer size.
