why can't there be a BART to SJ? the traffic going in either direction is FUCKED but i'd love to unleash the Kraken and see this Apple shrine of yours.

They’ll extend BART down to San Jose as soon as we’re done building new stadiums for every loser sports franchise in the Bay Area. See you at 49ers-Raiders-As-Warriors free coffee mug day! :x

With Windows, compatibility between versions is almost never a problem.
You have to be kidding
One ridiculous thing about windows is they still don't support hot-plugging. WTF
Agreed...and how about not recognizing a USB device if you don't plug it into the same USB jack every time?
I feel it's a matter of priorities. Audio software and hardware comes first, the OS that the system is built on is a distant second.
Truth
asio is same thing as coreaudio. it's just called differently and maintained by different company.

Yes, but ASIO is not built into Windows
Man, I should have known better than to reply to a topic like this
Is it safe? Is it safe? IS IT SAFE?

Why is WINDOWS way better than OSX for Music Software?

Because Windows machines are cheaper and there is more software (esp. free) available for Windows. There is no other reason.

There is. I described many times. Windows performs better than OSX. That is all.

Why in the fucking fuck do you give a shit what platform other people choose?

I guess some people are so insecure that they have to create an argument out of thin air.

Whatevs.

I already mentioned that it's not the thread I made. Did you see the 'Re' in the post subject? I just answered.

Pencilrocket=trollking. Next up, why are SOFTSYNTHS way better than analogue modular synths for music performances.

OS X is better for me because I prefer it. Or are you saying that I don't prefer it. Or are you saying I should make music on a platform I don't like, because otherwise "I'm doing it wrong".

You may have been shat out of a pussy, but that doesn't make you any less of a shit. If anything, it makes you a pussy-shit.

But what I want to know is this:

Why do people update their OS whenever Microsoft or Apple release one? If your music computer works with your current OS, DO NOT CHANGE it until your music software requires it, or until such time that you know all of your software is going to be compatible with the new version of the OS in question.
totally agree - big mistake to switch from win7 to win8

why would you want to do that????

it's an excellent cautionary tale for what can happen to you when you always need to be right or get attached to the idea of being an expert....

threw away a $15,000 synth for believing that his opinion was fact.

I bet he didn't throw it away - just sold it.

Presumably can just buy back with a bit of hassle and a small loss.

no. read the linked material. he was going to get the buchla as payment for writing the manual.
after posting a "modular synthesizers are obsolete and stupid" rant on his blog, and making retarded arguments with buchla users in the comments, buchla decided that he was not the man for the job.

he could have just written the manual and sold the synth for not much less than 15k, it's very hard to find a buchla 200e system used and they retain value very well, but he had to be a big shot.
