is ther ea way to group tracks and have them all record at the same time or do you have to do the global record for such a thing? i wish that you could group tracks and just arm the whole group to record- would save me so much time

why not just arm all the tracks you want to record on? not quite as simple as a group but surely one click per track you want to record on isn't "so much time"?

If I want to arm multiple tracks quickly, I map all their record arms to a button on my MIDI controller. However, I prefer to set up complex instrument racks where either I have a knob controlling the chain select between instruments, or set zones so that different areas of my keyboard play different sounds.
