Hands on experience with 2012 imac?

Post by vido » Tue Jan 08, 2013 2:37 am

I am extremely tempted to buy a new imac, the slim type. But I'm a bit hesitant because it only has one fan and a much smaller chassis so will it have major heat-issues and fans running all the time?

Anyone with hands on experience doing some heavy projects on a new 2012 imac..?

I have a few friends who love their new iMacs for making music. Definitely get the fusion drive too!

Thanks! No complaining about overactive fans...?

I've heard the fusion-drive can make the system unstable over time because frequent transferring of files increases the chances of the files getting corrupt... But... I thing I'll go for it anyway :)

I doubt you will have to worry about this in the normal lifetime of a computer.

(You should be backing up your projects anyway.)

Yeah exactly... Over the last year I've lost one mac, and got an ssd go corrupt on me...

Anyway: now it's ordered... and I'm over to drooling at hardware synths.
