About to make a 9 beta video, any thing you want covered?

Post by COSM » Thu Jan 10, 2013 11:41 pm

After biting my tongue for a while, I've been given the go ahead to show of Live 9 (beta) through video, so I thought I'd put it out to the wider community to see what people would like covered. Any topics or particular tasks you'd like to see explained or examples of, please let me know here in the next few hours and I'll make sure I include it.

Cheers!

I would like to see screenshots of what's in the options menus and how that browser works.

new live skins if their is any.

How live GUI scales, at the moment Live 8 scales up the text looks blurry if I go over 100%.

How does Live 9 use cores because Live 8 64bit only uses 4 - 5 out of 8 with a 7 track mix. A video of the core performance tab of windows while running 6 - 8 tracks would be nice.

I would like to see more examples of session automation (curvy lines as well), the new max for live devices, drums synth examples, new library browser. Pretty much everything they already showed us, except I want more.

I too think that the browser needs a bit of further explanation... like what will be some good folder and file naming techniques in the user library, and some good ways to import v8 library files.

Cosm, I'd suggest showing the differences between L9 and L8.
Anyone interested in both may get his/her hands on the L8 w/o buying it. And showing it would help many users to get to get what is all about L9.

I think that starting the project in L8 and then, at some point, showing how it's finished w/ L8 on one hand, and how w/ L9 on the other, would give some idea on this.

Id like to see a detailed explanation of the new procedures for making recordings in session and arrange view. including the session and arrangement record buttons, the arrangement overdub option, and the various automation recording modes.

I would like to know / see if the usage of multicore processors has been changed / improved.
And of course I would like to know if PDC has been fixed / improved.

I'd certainly love to see the preferences as another poster suggested. And if any new midi mapping possibilities have been snuck into the mix, that'd be exciting for me to see :P. thank you :)

+1

Although, you've probably finished your video by now :D

Looking forward to see what you come up with Tom.
