Does anyone know how to speed up the consolidation option?

When i press command J it sometimes takes quite a while which is slowing down my workflow

Sometimes yelling at it or cheering for it helps; depends whether it's mac or pc.

AFAIK - also avoiding to use the option quite speeds things up…

But how big are the clips you're consolidating into one?
How big is your set altogether? I mean, regardless of consolidating, just the way your Live setup is may already be weighed down.
What are your computer specs?

It's hard to say how reasonable the amount of time it takes the consildation. It could be normal, it could be odd.

I have an iMac.

I have 4GB RAM - what do I need to increase it to? Would it make a difference?

Processor speed on my iMac is 3.1GHZ

Thanks mate
