Render a Reaktor Track to Audio

Post by LesMizzell » Fri Feb 01, 2013 3:18 am

I've searched, but not found an exact answer yet...

I have a couple to generative Reaktor ensembles that I've programmed - they don't require any MIDI input. So, I drag Reaktor into a track in Arrangement view - chain some effects I like - hit "play", and it does its thing. No keyboard or MIDI tracks needed...

Most of these are pretty processor intensive, so I need to render the Reaktor tracks plus effectsto audio so I can keep working on other tracks. "Freezing" the track doesn't generate any audio. Trying to drag the frozen track into an audio track doesn't render any audio either.

I'm just enough of a Live noob that it's probably something stupid I've missed!

Suggestions?

Finally figured out one way - switch to session view, route the Reaktor track to an audio track, and record over to the audio track. Works, but doesn't seem very efficient on a 20 minute track since I get to sit here for 20 minutes while it records over.

Better ideas?

I don't see how your problem can be solved
Time is necessary when making self generating/random
sounds.
How can live render something that does not yet exist?
I think i 'm right in saying that each time your run your
reaktor plugins, you will get a different result and live is
not that sophisticated to predict what the outcome will be.
Surely it's the same with Reaktor's stand-alone audio recorder.
Anyway you've sussed out the usual way to render the audio
by creating another audio track.
