Plugin window keyboard override

I have been having an issue lately with my vst plugins overriding my keyboard in Live. As soon as I use my mouse to adjust a parameter in the plugin GUI or to move the window, no keys on my keyboard will work. I can't even use the space bar to stop playback. For about a day or two everything seemed to had magically fixed itself and the problem was gone. I no longer had to click the Live window in order for it to recognize key commands, but now the problem is back. Does anyone else have this problem. I have the 2012 15" MacBook Pro fully loaded, and never had this problem on my old machine 2009 13" MacBook Pro(not that I know of) Your help is greatly appreciated. For a guy that uses keyboard shortcuts frequently , this is suuuuuuppppppppeeeeeeeerrrrrrr annoying.
