Yesterday after upgrading to 9 suite , I decided to order the Push.
But seeing this 12-16 weeks delivery time is a serious deal breaker.
I'll stick to my Maschine until they sort it out.

Agreed, a lot of things could happen between now and June (i.e. competitor companies putting out other stuff)

Yup! It's a shame Ableton didn't prepare better. With all the hyping they have done, they knew there was a high demand for Push! And they had months to Stock up properly.

3 to 4 months is a long time and a lot can happen.
I have a feeling that Novation might come with their own answer to Push soon and release a Launchpad Mk2 With touch sensitive /velocity pads.

I think ableton will be afraid of the pythoncoders, which will adapt most of the push-features to the monomes, Launchpads etc. by the end of June...

The only advantage Push has over the extremely popular Launchpad is that it has 64 touch and velocity sensitive pads.
So when Novation comes out with an Mk2 Version of their Louchpad, with their pads upgraded to touch and velocity sensitivity and similar priced as the current Launchpad, then the Push will get a serious run for it's Money.
As the Launchpad is far more customizable than the Push currently.

Tho we have to admit, the build quality of the Push is top notch!

In an odd sort of way Im actually glad about the timescale for new Push orders. I was never certain about it. The only thing that was certain was that Ableton's marketing was working its magic on me!

I won't be preordering anything with that sort of delay - I'd rather wait until Push was readily available. By then, I'd imagine that both Live Control 2 will be out for use on my iPad and that NI will have released an updated Live 9 template for Maschine. Both should be enough to kill off my interest in Push. Plus, with a likely Komplete 9 release (and with what looks like two new instruments) the cash I have to spend will probably end up going on a Komplete crossgrade rather than Push. Either that or some other hardware (Waldorf Rocket?!).

Waiting 3 or 4 months also allows for more honest reviews and opinions to emerge as well as a good idea of what sort of crazy stuff folk begin to develop with Push. Im looking forward to seeing some of that.

Battery 4 with seamless Maschine integration, for instance.

not that I want to switch from one marketing hype to another...

you really think it will be the same price, or in the same price range? If the pads are really that good like maschines pads, then there is no chance for a price range of 100-200€.

the big delay indicates that they didn't have much stock to begin with, and makes it seem like they basically launched early for marketing and hype reasons above anything else, getting in before their competitors.

it makes the whole "valued customers order before the 12 March for your great deal" thing even more sour. pre-order, save $50 bucks off the initial price and wait 4 months for delivery??? no thanks.

Right. They obviously built a certain number up front but are basing their main production on the number of orders. Cash flow.
