Is anybody else having trouble with credit card transactions

Post by justjohn_jj » Tue Mar 05, 2013 9:12 pm

Anybody else getting

The financial institution has declined the transaction. Please check the data you have entered.

??

I had never run into this "Verified by Visa" password stuff. Sounds shady, but I jumped through the hoops.

Perhaps my bank doesn't trust Ableton itself? After this bit, I can't blame them.

Okay, I called my bank and they didn't trust a charge from Berlin. Now it's hunky dory, or some other early Bowie album.

So: Never mind.

Yeah, I ran into the same thing. The order page initially said my financial institution declined the charge. Called my bank and they said charges from Ableton were flagged as needing approval from the cardholder. After I told them I really did want to make the purchase, everything went through fine.

It's a sign of a good bank when they trigger fraud warnings that easily. I send money to Berlin via Visa monthly, and my bank didn't even trigger a suspicious activity warning on the first payment :P
