sorry 3dot, just prepare yourself for the MASCHINE TROLLS. this post has a 10 page potential, just by mentioning maschine in the title.
Re: Maschine vs. MPC Studio
After Akai updating to 1.3 I think the studio is becoming more like an MPC now that they put manual chopping mode. I also think that SP-1200 ring mode adds some sound design options with vintage mode.

Re: Maschine vs. MPC Studio
I hear the mpc software 1.3 runs really well. I like using Maschine with Live 8 but when I ran the Live 9 beta it wasn't right and it was part of the reason I am not upgrading to Live 9. At least not right away.

Didn't get to touch it yet. I'll see if my local guitar center has a demo already

Re: Maschine vs. MPC Studio
thanks dude.. post up your review if you get to...
I'm really curious about this one as it seems very slim..
kinda doubtful if they were able to reproduce the feel of the MPC

Would you prefer another thread about Live 9 price/download/authorization/library problems or first impressions?
Re: Maschine vs. MPC Studio
Can't really talk about the software but the pads are excellent, very sensitive and comparable to Maschine. They are very slightly firmer than Maschine but I actually preferred that.3dot... wrote:did you get to touch it? how are the pads?
The pads will not give you a problem.

Re: Maschine vs. MPC Studio
my local guitar center refuses to put out a demo model but I do have a lot of online friends who have the ren or the studio and the general thing is that the ren/studio is awesome. the ren is a better choice for the extra add ons but the studio does not suck. talking to a few people who have owned the studio and maschine they gave the thumbs up to the full version of maschine over the mpc studio but the studio over the mikro but overall its totally preference from what I have gathered. they both do about the same thing and both are good pieces of gear3dot... wrote:did you get to touch it? how are the pads?

Re: Maschine vs. MPC Studio
Pay no attention to EDDIEX, 3dot... He's still butthurt about Guitar Center not letting him return it and has been popping into every thread mentioning Maschine just to bash it and whine about it and constantly bringing up a bug that's already been fixed.3dot... wrote:HEY...BROWSE ELSEWHERES!!!!
As for Maschine vs. MPC Ren/Studio, the biggest difference is that Maschine allows for a completely hardware-based workflow without needing to touch the mouse or even look at the computer screen whereas the Ren/Studio don't have that option because they have many basic functions that need the mouse and the computer screen. There are many other differences (Maschine is very stable while Ren/Studio is apparently a bug/crash fest even after the new 1.3.1 update which only introduced more bugs) of course but I'd say that's a pretty major one.
