Where can I locate the new Max patches that come with Max6?

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the new browser and locations of old (and new files). Whenever I click on the category, "max4Live", nothing shows up.

It might be in a User folder, or the Live 8 folder. I personally haven't spent a great deal of time exploring this yet so I could be wrong.

It's in my Live 8 folder. In your opinion (or knowledge) where is it supposed to be? I basically have my Max patches from my previous installation. Is it supposed to moved elsewhere?

i didnt have max in live 8 but i was havin trouble keeping track of where the different max things were in the browser.

they werent all appearing in the Max folder that appears.

I added the folder where i have all the max devices downloaded under the Places section

the non cycling max devices werent appearing with the other stuff even tho they are all in the same folder.

since i added the folder myself directly i can get them all right away

Late response, but...

If by "nothing shows up" you really meant that nothing showed there's a serious problem. Because if you installed Suite 9 you should at the very least have 3 categories (Instrument & Audio/Midi effect) which in their turn list a preset to the same thing.

With Live 8 you needed a livepack to really 'activate' stuff, Live 9 provides M4l 'out of the box'. The livepack is only required to add extra contents (the advertised m4l devices).

Well, as far as I can tell it basically doesn't detect anything from your previous environment. No m4l patches nor presets.

In order to completely integrate those into your Live 9 environment you'll need to move or copy those yourself from the Live 8 library and put them into the new "User library". The 'user library' is the new place in Live 9 where all your own created contents goes (contents such as m4l devices, presets, default settings, etc.).

Basically everything except whole projects (that's because the 'user library' is basically its own project, just like the previous Live 8 library was).

Moving items to the User Folder worked. Hopefully Ableton states somewhere the files need to exist in either the "Factory" or "User" folders in order to be categorized. I had assumed it indexed all Places and folders selected.
