Blogs and websites

Post by rjsexton458 » Thu Feb 14, 2013 2:55 pm

I am a beginner to all this music production and what not. i know basically nothing about music or what to do and how to make it sound good. I am interested in making more experimental like electronic music. Are there any good blogs or websites out there with ableton tutorials especially ones for beginners, info about music gear such as speakers and midi controllers or any other site you guys think will help me.

1. Read the Live's manual. Seriously ;)
2. idmforums.com is a good place to search for experimental music tutorials
3. if you want to make experimental music, try not to follow the tutorials, but learn the hard way - during experimenting ;)

Not to offend you, but based on your post, my first impression is you're not a native English speaker (nor am I). Tell us what is your native language, maybe someone will point you to tutorial-website written in it. It's always easier and more pleasant that way ;)

Might be. But I'm under impression, that the post has been edited, cause first time I've read it, it was pretty obvious to me.

You know, in this case, a Funken self plug is completely justified. It is what the OP was asking for. Hell, tarekith did it as well.

Can we keep this little dispute out of the music forum?

Macableton.com as funken pointed out.
Tom Cosm has some great Ableton Live tutorials as well as www.musicsoftwaretraining.com
Synthtopia for synth/tech porn.
CreateDigitalMusic for new product releases and indepth stuff.
Dubspot has alot of good stuff occasionally.
DjTechTools if you are looking to get into controlerism.
http://julienbayle.net for super nerdy Max4Live stuff.
