Samples sound different in Ableton
Hey guys,
When i drop a sample (a kick) into the arrange window on an audio track why does a sample sound so different from the original? now this is even after i remove the automatic fades. The original kick i have sounds so much much better and has even more high end compared to what i hear back when i play in the sequencer :/

Re: Samples sound different in Ableton
Make sure the volume is equal between the two (louder always sounds better), and check the sample rate. If the sample rates are different between project and sample, you may end up with artifacting
Re: Samples sound different in Ableton
you said kick sample on an audio track so my first thought is: is it being warped?
Re: Samples sound different in Ableton
On what? How are you playing back that kick outside of Live?Shane Collins wrote:The original kick i have sounds so much much better

The volumes between both samples are the same, sample rate is the same, warp mode is off its just a single hit anyway not a loop.agent314 wrote:Make sure the volume is equal between the two (louder always sounds better), and check the sample rate. *Now i just checked it in Session view again and the sample will play back perfect like the original but it wont in arrange view it plays back like i said, poor, the clip/sample parameters are identicle and ive turned fades off in both views.. hmm

Hmmm...are you sure there really isn't a fade on it in arrange? I know you said fades were off, but just double checking since clip fade is a little different than arrangement fade. (like shown here: http://en.wikiaudio.org/Ableton_Live:Fades)
