Convolution Reverb Crashing Live EVERYTIME!

I'm rather frustrated. One of the major reasons why I purchased Live 9 suite was for the Convolution Reverb, and currently every time I try to load it in any capacity Live immediately crashes.

System specs:
AMD FX 6100 3.3GHz
16GB RAM
Windows 7 Professional 64bit
Live 9 64bit (not interested in 32bit, I have 16GB of ram for a reason)

It might be worth noting that other M4L devices will load without any issues, and I've tried loading the Convolution Reverb in situations where there are other M4L devices already loaded, and when there are no other M4L devices loaded. Same results EVERY TIME.
Can anyone offer any insight?

at least have you tried with live 9 32bits? [just testing nothing else]

are you sure to have maxforlive essentials up to date?
Same with max6, be sure to check if it is the latest release.

same thing here, but with 32bit version of Live 9.

If you're having problems with crashes, please send in all crash reports to crashes[at]ableton[dot]com, and get in touch with Ableton Support directly.

Same thing here.

Live Suite 9.02, M4L 6.1.1, everything re-installed twice.

Somehow is has worked with one of the 9.02beta!
But since that always crashing, exactly the same problem as above.

Think Ableton knows it and they are busy fixing it, heard it from different people now.
Hm.

In the last email I got form support it was indicated to me that there is a conflict with certain AMD CPUs... I really hope they fix it soon, I'm getting a bit impatient. :?

If that's the case, it wouldn't surprise me if the problem is with Max rather than with Live. Have you tried contacting Cycling '74 about it? They might have a public beta you could try.

I've experienced this with multiple M4L devices that come stock (convolution reverb and granulator 2). I am running an AMD CPu as well, 3.8 quad core. Thanks for sharing, I'll keep my ears to the ground for an update

Sounds like AMD processor is the issue, then...I'm on an Intel Mac and zero issues with the reverb.

Just got live suite a couple of weeks back. Plugin worked on first time I ever used it, now crashes ableton every single time. Running on AMD 8 core with 16gb Ram and two SSD disks. Focusrite Scarlet 8i6. Frustrating because I am moving from Pro Tools as it is power hungry on my setup and convolution reverbs are simply essential this days.

Any body found a fix for this yet ?

Hey everyone I have an update!

After getting in contact with the Cycling '74 support team they sent me an update saying they are working on the issue and hope to have it resolved within the next few weeks and push it out in the newest update.
I was also sent a new version of the "clang.mxe" (located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Cycling '74\Max 6.1\Cycling '74\extensions" for 32 bit on Windows) to test and now the Convolution Reverb and Granulator II are working flawlessly for me.

Hopefully they will have some more extensive news soon!

Cheers!

Hi echoneiric, this is good news! Many thanks for your help looking in to this issue.

I believe I'm having the same problem with a new AMD build[1]. Was going to submit a support request to Ableton but managed to find this thread.

Is there any chance you could send me a copy of the clang.mxe file that you've got? Or if not, do you have a ticket number with Cycling '74 that I could reference in communication with them? (Or another forum post to reference, perhaps?)

Cheers.

In case you didn´t seen it: Cycling 74 has released a new Version of Max/MSP (18th June). This version resolves that Problem, Convolution reverb and Granualtor 2 are now working on AMD Systems

I just downloaded the latest version[1], and can confirm that the Max for Live audio effects Convolution Reverb and Convolution Reverb Pro, and the instrument Granulator II now work on my system.

(They load a bit slower than I'd maybe expect given my spec, but I don't have much to compare it with, and will look in to this later.)

[1] From ableton.com, for Windows 32-Bit: "Max61_x86_c65b953.zip" (listed as Max for Live version 6.1; the installer shows it to be 6.1.3).

Cheers for the heads up, astartes72. And thanks again echoneiric for filing an issue with Cycling '74!
