Mountain Lion 10.8.3 Can Anyone Confirm...

Post by Breaks Dude » Sat Mar 16, 2013 3:57 am

Whether or not you have any issues with core audio and Ableton 8.3.X?

I'm on a mid 2012 MBP and would like to float this by anyone who is using the newest version of ML before I upgrade from Lion.

Just an aside, I use core audio quite a bit on airplanes and while traveling. When the machine is static I use an audio interface.

Thanks!

Thanks Stringtapper. Are you running via core audio or an outboard sound interface? :D

Just saying, all Macs use CoreAudio all the time no? Isn't it just the audio system? Do you just mean internal soundcard?

I suppose that might be correct...I also have two different external soundcards. These run off of different drivers, so I really dunno. However on a cramped flight, it's just simpler to plug headphones directly in and go to work rather than digging around and finding room for an external device. Sometimes you might want to play something for someone with the external speakers. Just making sure because I had read here and in the Apple forums there was a bug in ML with Core Audio and Live. 10.8.3 was supposed to correct some of this, so that's why I'm checking.

Not a single issue with built-in soundcard or SoundFlower here :)

Has this bug been squashed in OS X 10.8.5?

It was released on Sept. 12.
