Setting up a reamp

Post by Giacomo17 » Mon Mar 18, 2013 11:27 pm

Hi folks! What would be the best way to go about setting up a Radial reamp box for my bass guitar tracks only and nothing else? I assume it has something to do with having the bass track go out Master left (then thru the reamp before going to the PA), while all the other tracks go out Master right, then off to the PA. If so, how would I set that up in Ableton?

Thanks!

To start, do you only have 2 channels of output from your audio interface? If this is the case, then you will not be able to have a stereo out of your Master.

In this scenario, you are correct in having the bass go out on one channel and the Master be mono on a second channel. In Ableton, display the routing panel for the tracks. Should be able to route "Audio To" from the bass track to Channel 1 of your interface and simply route "Audio To" from the Master track to Channel 2 of your interface. No need to hard pan to separate the bass from the Master, just route from the tracks.
