I'm not sure on the exact number of tracks, but basically I think there are around 24 tracks there, some are just me and Ariel (the drummer) singing individually, some are us singing together, some are whispers, and some are us just running around doing silly things while singing. We tried also having different placements against the mic so we can make the sound 'bigger'. Eventually I even used a soft layer of some of the closed mic vocals tuned an octave down just to make the sound a little 'bigger'.
Yes the "telephone" bits - great job - they keep me coming back - esp with JR interspersed - really hooky :-)
EyalAmir wrote: Regarding JR's solo: AFAIK, Push doesn't have that 'auto octave feature' that GEO (I was actually involved with the development of that app, as well as SampleWiz) has. So he just played really fast on the existing buttons, we used the in-key mode tuned to Db Lydian (rather than using the Chromatic mode which is more like the GEO interface).
JR ought to talk to Ableton about licensing that auto-octave :-)

Push tutorial from JR? that I have to ingest completely. Where do we find it?
Thank you Sir - Great Job
(Scritti Politti - 80's Brit band - don't worry it's a compliment!)

Oh, you mean the vocal harmonies, that's different! What this is, is a 4 part harmony (actually 3 - lead + 2 backing voices + an octave higher than the lead double). Each of the 3 non-lead vocals is doubled tracked by both me and Ariel, as well as a 'vocoder' track I created from the original vocals and just transposed to the proper pitches using Cubase's VariAudio.

So overall that whole 'telephones' bit is 20 tracks: LeadX2, Lead Vocoder X6, Eyal X6, Ariel X6.

Now that's an idea. :)

Yes, I directed and edited it. It's about an hour long and got *lots* of cool stuff, performances, many techniques on how to 'shred' in both in key and chromatic modes and generally a very interesting video. I think it will be probably be released tomorrow on MacProVideo.com and AskVideo.com.

Thank you for your lovely comments. :)

Maybe jordan rudess's fingers are agile at hitting far out notes at high speed, but his muic is revolting. How can you people enjoy this cynical pop ? Beyond me.
Couldn't agree more. I remember watching a video of him demoing the Little Phatty's filters when it first came out.
I was like, great this guy knows what he's talking about. I bet he's a very talented musician making amazing music.
What a disappointment when I checked out his music and realized it was a gammy Joe Satriani like wankfest.
Sure if it makes him happy to play that and there are people that enjoy it, why not.
But I for sure will pass and go for a bit more subtlety

These guys are very interesting, thanks for introducing them to me!

I could definitely relate to the Satriani reference in connection to Jordan's music or Dream Theater (although I'm a big fan of both). However the track in question here is mine and not Jordan's... and I don't think it sounds even close to the style of music you're referring to.

I did not know them, very interesting guys! They seem to have a close sound to one of my biggest current inspirations - Everything Everything.
