Live9 - 'Sounds' is Empty!

I made the mistake a couple weeks ago of opening Live 8 while Live 9 was still running (I wanted to drag over some racks that weren't showing up in the new library).

While others have had this problem and tech support linked me to the library FAQ, none of the suggestions have helped (I haven't yet tried reinstalling though). I've restarted Live 9 dozens of times, restarted the laptop dozens of times...the 'Sounds' part of the library is still blank even as the other directories seem to be working fine.

Is there any solution short of reinstalling Live 9? If I do have to reinstall, what do I need to backup? Projects? Devices? Packs?

I thought you meant it "sounds" empty, like I hear it as empty.. lol.!

I just came across the same problem When I go to file management, it says I'm not missing any files, but the library is completely empty

this happens when you open live9 and another instance of live (e.g. Live8) is already open.

Close all. Take a deep breath. Open Live9. Voilà!

The other 'directories' repopulated after restarting live (this was two weeks ago, by the way) but 'Sounds' is still empty...even after dozens of restarts.

I had a similar issue over the weekend. No amount of restating Live 9 resolved it.Push display was also freezing occasionally.
I gave up, tried an old beta and it was OK. Went back to current version of Live 9 and all was OK again.

I reported this to support.
