Hello all. I have a functionality problem between live and my midi controllers. I have an akai lpd8 and an mpk49. The thing is that when i connect my controllers, although live can recognize them, when I turn the controllers' track ok they turn orange. After searching the web, it appeared that it turns orange due to another program or application reserving the midi port the controllers are connected on. I have tried every possible solution but nothing works. Any ideas?

I don't know, can you set the MIDI channel differently for the MPK49? Try MPK49 on different port/rear port if on a desktop? I have my LPD8 connected all the time now via USB but my Korg M50 is now via MIDI cables. I have a padKontrol but it isn't plugged in right now so can't use it to test.

Mike

Which version of Live and which OS are you using ?

You are right with what you found on the net. Usually the orange shows
drivers that are not multi-client and already in use. So are you sure
they are not in use already ? Maybe for a remote script ? Or by any
other software running in the background ?

Are you trying it for the first time or did it work before ?
Did you change anything ?
Do the drivers register correctly in the OS ?
Are you able to use the controllers with other software ?

In the past I had the generic drivers of my Behringer BCR conflicting
with the webcam drivers of my laptop - only solution was to open the
display and disconnected the wires of the webcam.
