Recording problems (cracking,pops)

I was trying to record a live set today via scratch live through a m audio fast track pro into ableton 8 suite and I kept getting a crackling noise, this just started happening and has always been fine so I'm wondering what's going on, any ideas? you can hear a sample of the cracking at the link I provided.
