new launchpad
Re: new launchpad
2 hours later and nobodies interested? I think they'll still sell like hot cake anyway.
(I'm going to learn how to bake to take advantage of the hot cake market, apparently recession proof)

Re: new launchpad
If they ahd made those pads velocity sensitive to allow for Push-like functionality then I think more people would be interested.
Professional Shark Jumper.

Brighter LED's ?? and how can a controller be "Faster"?
these aren't features. this is marketing.
...really bad marketing though...
and of course it's gonna be more expencive, than the old one...

Re: new launchpad
...i mean seriously, in these Videos, there's nothing that can't be done with the old Launchpad.
Re: new launchpad
Don't get me wrong, I love my Launchpad, but this doesn't seem to have any real advantage. Brighter lights is nice but not worth paying 150GBP to replace my current one for. If I was buying new anyway I'd probably wait for it I guess.
I also reckon a velocity (and aftertouch) sensitive version would sell though, even if it cost a fair bit more.

Re: new launchpad
RGB leds or sensitive padw would have been a cool upgrade, this not.
Re: new launchpad
it can be faster.
the old one has some limtations on update time.
but I agree - we all dreamed of velocity sensitive pads, but this did not happen

Not a big enough difference to matter.

Re: new launchpad
The brighter leds could be make me buy it. Actually i don't care about push or full RGB leds. im running a max patch alongside my 2 LPs anyway, cause the way it works out of the box seems stupid to me. But i've been really annoyed with the leds' brightness when playing outdoor, and i was about to build a DYI controller, mainly because of this. So...maybe these little chinese children made it cheaper ?
I am also curious to know in what way it's supposed to be more 'non-ableton' friendly. I guess it's still non-programmable, and honestly, this is a massive shame.

Re: new launchpad
This is a pretty underwhelming update.
It would have been cool if there was velocity sensitivity, actual RGB pads, some advanced scale/chord and other MIDI functionality. It would have been cool if it had been a lite version of Push just like Launchpad 1 was a lite version of the APC40.
But NO!
We got brighter LEDs with faster responsie times... YAY!

Re: new launchpad
to be fair, the poor response time was the major flaw in the last version.
