Rane 61/Audio Kontrol 1/Ableton Live 8.3

At the risk of sounding like a complete noob I'm going to ask this anyway.... I just got a regular gig at a new club and they are using a Rane 61 mixer. Up until now I've been able to bring my own complete setup to all of my gigs but this new place has a small booth and they demand I use their mixer. Here are my questions...
1. Can I forgo my Audio Kontrol 1 and just plug usb from Macbook straight into mixer?
2. Would you recommend simply using an AUX into the mixer and using my Audio Kontrol 1?

I realize this may be completely simplistic questions but I didn't want to show up and look like a fool on my first day.

Probably a good idea to download and install the drivers for the 61 so you have them if needed.
