Waves PlugIns in Live 9
Re: Waves PlugIns in Live 9
Not much help, but all working fine here!
MacBook Pro, Mojave, Live 10, Logic Pro X, UAD Apollo & Satellites, UAD, NI Komplete, Izotope, Korg, Audio Damage, Fabfilter, Waves plugs.
Re: Waves PlugIns in Live 9
I mentioned what I had to do. RESCAN has also worked. It was weird the first time but each waves install I've had to do rescan and it's fine (I've been "playing" with waves lately)
Re: Waves PlugIns in Live 9
yes! rescanning all vst/au plugins (I'm on MacOS) is the solution!
Still all Waves plugins have a sluggish GUI. You have to move the window a bit and everything is fine.

Re: Waves PlugIns in Live 9
Do what the guy above said, uncheck the "use custom vst folder" and the recheck it, alot of times that will cause recalcitrant plugins to show up
Re: Waves PlugIns in Live 9
I had a problem with some VST/AU and Live 9 see this thread.

Basically the solution is go to file / folder in preferences hold 'alt' and press 'rescan plugins'.
This will trigger a deeper rescan.

Re: Waves PlugIns in Live 9
- Delete the "WaveShell-VST 9.2_x64.dll" in your 64bit VST directory.
- Run Ableton Live 64bit
- Close Ableton Live 64bit
- Copy the "WaveShell-VST 9.2_x64.dll" from your "C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\Waveshells" directory
- Run Ableton Live 64bit
I believe this happens when you run ableton live after you've installed a waves plugin, w/o registering the plugin first with WLC.

...or this, which is basically what I forced Ableton to do in my previous post, just quicker.piZMo wrote:I had a problem with some VST/AU and Live 9 see this thread.

Re: Waves PlugIns in Live 9
Hmm…just tried all of the suggestions above and nothing helped.
I have both Live 9.1 64-bit version and 9.0.6 in 32-bit version and am trying to get Waves Tunes running. I had mega issues getting Ableton to recognize the waves license but I found that uninstalling and re-installing waves worked. Now my Waves Shell 9.2 shows up in my VST list but now when I try to use them, I get the message that it is not compatible with live. The AU version doesn't even work. I have tried both session view and arrangement view with no luck.
I am calling them tomorrow and will post back if they have a solution.
My system is Mac OS X 10.8.5

Re: Waves PlugIns in Live 9
***FIXED****
Ok, they got back with me very quickly and their fix worked so thumbs up to Waves support.
1. Run the V9 Installer
2. Under Single Plugins, select Waves Tunes and RS56
3. After installation go to Sys HD > Applications > Waves > Plug-ins and delete the RS56.bundle file
When I fire up Ableton 9.1 64-Bit, it now works. Hopefully this will help others.

Re: Waves PlugIns in Live 9
I have had the same problem. I reinstalled Waves and Live and now my Waves plugins only work in AU.... Pretty strange.

Re: Waves PlugIns in Live 9
The solution is in my experience simple:
Turn off VSTs in the preferences and reactivate it. A new scan will start and recognize missed VSTs which will not happen with just a re-scan.
This is sometimes necessary also for other plug-ins to be recognized.
Don't use Waves AU plug-ins in Live. They're not supported, even if they might work.
Also I hope you've noticed that most Waves plug-ins now officially supports side-chaining (This is new since less than a year or so I think). You need to route the side-chain signal to the sc inputs of the plug-in yourself. The one exception plug-in I have is the C1, which doesn't show its side-chain functions in Live. I'm complaining about this to Waves. Please do the same.

Thanks for that. I was trying to look for individual plugin.dll's but turns out all i need was that waveshell.dll from the directory u provided and copy it to my 64 plugins folder I created
Just to clarify my SSL4000 and Maxx plus are scanned by ABleton and working fine on win 7 64 bit

For Waves VSTs on a mac..... Hold alt-option and click rescan plugins. Fixed it for me just now.
