Re: Max for Live requests - what would you like to see?

Excellent suggestions, some doable or at least attemptable (still gets me learned up!) Keep them coming
But unfortunately observing the current position/time is not accurate due to inherent latency of the Live API.Mage2k wrote:Hmm... Seems like if you know (or can calculate) the clip length/time, the marker position/time, and the current position/time you could calculate the relative jump needed.lo.key wrote:my real desire is for a m4l patch which allows one to consistently jump to a specified location in a clip. It would be simple if the move_playing_position call accepted absolute values, but it only allows relative jumps.
Are you serious? Have you even ever open a max patch? Do you need a tutorial on how to open a max patch?!leoelzein wrote:I'd like to see a tutorial on how to setup tabs in a max patch if possible I can't wrap my head around it

I am dead serious, I already did that before posting hence the "I can't wrap my head around it". Care to walk me through the process since you can decypher that information and I can't? maybe make a "tabs for idiots" tutorial... thanksValiumdupeuple wrote:Are you serious? Excuse me, I'm a bit rude. But if you open max and search for tab, you'll find every information you need.
Are you sure you even know what he's talking about?Valiumdupeuple wrote:Are you serious? Have you even ever open a max patch? Do you need a tutorial on how to open a max patch?!leoelzein wrote:I'd like to see a tutorial on how to setup tabs in a max patch if possible I can't wrap my head around it

Excellent, thank you for that!stringtapper wrote:Are you sure you even know what he's talking about?Valiumdupeuple wrote:Are you serious? Have you even ever open a max patch? @leoelzein: are you talking about the [tab] object or the the kinds of tabs that are in the Max 6 help patches? If it's the latter then those are indeed not documented as far as I know.
Here is a patch that has tabs. It basically comes down to creating sub patches that correspond to each tab. To make the tab show up you have to go into the patcher inspector for the sub patch and check "Show on Parent Patcher Tab".
