Ok - I know that the thread title is pretty broad (!) but I just thought that I would post to get some ideas that I might not have considered myself.

How do you guys go about approaching reverb for your drums? I tend to simply send my drum bus to a short reverb send with a hi-pass on the input so that my kicks don't reverberate and muddy the mix. Helps create cohesion for the drums, and is easy on the CPU.

I know its not a flashy technique - but are there benefits to approaching reverb on drums differently? :?: I've also experimented with placing the reverb directly on my drum bus, followed by a compressor, which can also yield some nice results...but I'm sure that there are many different ways to skin this cat!

Perhaps I'm barking up the wrong tree altogether? Any advice appreciated!

Thanks in advance guys!

Lots of fun here ;)

Although I don't use gated reverb much, it's a great technique.
