Why is there even a CPU meter when it tells you absolutely nothing about the performance of the program? Even at 40% I start hearing odd random artifacts. Is this "metering" complete BS?

it's based on the hypotenuse of an isosceles triangle which causes the reading to only be accurate if you are north of the equator during a waning moon. very handy for Detroit shows with out of work fans.

I would say the performance of the program tells you about the performance of the program  If you are getting unwanted pops, glitches, etc then that can be telling you that either the software is having problems or your hardware set-up is having problems. What are your hardware specs? Also - are there any other topics/users covering this issue in the forum (did you do a search)?
