New device for live. 'Survey'
Re: Survey? Really?
They also added some controller support. I guess they could have blown that off and said, "You have to upgrade to 9 for the nex fixes".UncleAge wrote:Release notes for 8.4.1 states: "Added user satisfaction survey. After several hours of usage, Live will ask you to rate the software."
I'm not understanding how someone thought this was a good idea. I assume this is not restricted to a demo version. If this is the case then someone at Ableton is hoping to get a good (honest) feedback after interrupting my use of the paid for software with a survey?
I would be curious what is in the survey.
Re: Survey? Really?
Is there a survey of 9 yet?

Re: Survey? Really?
Hi guys,
Let me chime in about the survey that we've built into Live 8 and Live 9.
It works like a little 5-star rating system: with 2 clicks, you rate and
send us the result, or you can dismiss it with 1 click. At the moment, it
does not appear again if you've answered or dismissed it, but we may decide
to show it again in future versions. It does not pop up in a window, but
rather shows up in the lesson view at startup, meaning it is non-blocking
(if you simply close the lesson view without answering, it will reappear at
the next start).
Cheers,
Carl

Re: Survey? Really?
Putting it in both 8 & 9 is fair. I still don't think the vehicle for communication is right, though. Either way, thanks for chiming in Carl.
Re: Survey? Really?
This update gets '0 stars' from me, then.
Re: Survey? Really?
I own L9, really like it, been using Live for years and so on but...
...this sucks, I hate this sort of shite forcing me to rate something.
I know a click to close it is trivial but the whole thing is just a rubbish thing to do.
Do I click to close it or vent my wrath via the rating system?

Re: Survey? Really?
I don't use a computer screen with my L9 Live, I've got a mac mini running my live set.
Will I have to worry about it popping up during performances? Will it affect Live's ability to perform?
Thanks for the feedback.

To be honest, how much value can you deduce from a star rating? Utterly pointless IMHO.

Re: Survey? Really?
exactly, people rate shitty shit at 4-5 stars all the time... Not to say Live is shit, its awesome, but there needs to be a way to turn this "feature" off.Dom Murphy wrote:To be honest, how much value can you deduce from a star rating? Utterly pointless IMHO.
