Yeah, increasing the priority won't give you more performance. For me, it's a necessary fix. If your setup works, don't rock the boat, especially for the live performance - another good tip in this thread.

With respect to the PC platform, I think Live is in the upper echelon of sequencer apps if you are rating them by stability. While it pains me to say it, Live is more stable than my beloved Cubase SX 3.

I also used BlackViper.com, although it seems down ATM. Had some awesome optimizations and explanations of all your services, so you knew which ones you can safely disable.
