Midi Controllers for ableton

Post by Beato » Thu Apr 28, 2005 7:32 am

looking for a good midi controller along the same lay out as a mixer with fader capabilities, so far only found the begringer, and Evo X and some fader fox one....any other suggestions.

there's the encore Slidemate, the Doepfer Pocket Fader, the Kenton Control Freak Original and Control Freak Studio,

these all just have 8 to 16 faders.

i prefer the Evolution UC-33 myself. Its lasted me about 2 years now and i beat the shit out of it.

I played with the new Trigger Finger from M-Audio. That will be my controller of choice for Live when it shows up.

Thanks dude. Unfortunately Musicians Friend doesn't have it in stock yet. I have some fundage on the cuff with them, so I will wait until they get it in stock.

Is it possible to use the joystick to select clips in the session view? Are the pads velocity sensitive?
Thanks!

The joystick can be assigned to any midi message, so I believe you can do that.

And yes, the pads are velocity sensitive.

M-Audio Ozonic is working well here... firewire connection, audio interface included, three octave keys, nine faders, seperate mix for phones, pitch bend, mod wheel and joystick, more.... worth a look. Audio sounds great through this one, too. 8)

I got my triggerfinger yesterday, and I must say it rules.
It switches presets very quickly and easily, so I'm setting one up for mutes, one for loop triggers, one for fx... etc etc

Spot on.

gotta rub it in on a brother don't ya

Just kidding, I am glad that you find it as easy to use as it looks. Are you on Mac or PC? Are the drivers pretty stable?
