Ableton Live 9 Suite and Packs

Post by Ret Svilenov » Fri Apr 19, 2013 10:53 am

I just recently downloaded the Full Pack Library sounds for Suite 9 and I monitored that the download is very slow! Orchestral Strings took about 15 min with the others around 10 min or so! Ableton seems to freeze a bit when looking for space to place the sounds into folders! I guess that how it is with those huge libraries! Prepare for a bit of wait scenarios!

Yeah man...I wish that could be more faster! All this Packs scanning takes for ages! From one version to another is like a pain in the....! What the hell is scanning core library for an hour! I did all the pre installing stuff correctly by erasing the Preference file in the Library Mac Preferences and now from 9.0.2 to 9.0.3 will take probably all afternoon!

Get used to it for the time being. It is the indexer process that is being worked on in 9.0.3b5 or whatever version they are testing. They pulled the 9.0.3 release due to another issue with plugins being turned off in sets you had working prior to 9.0.3 so it is not downloadable for the time being (word is some time next week). That update is supposed to increase the indexer process speed and so forth. If you had read the release notes that were online earlier today.

So until 9.0.3 is out deal with the indexer (enough threads on the browser/indexer already).

Some of the packs, especially Orchestral Strings are like 10 GB IIRC. I wouldn't call 15 minutes to get them "slow".
