Hello,

I have tried Trilogy (Spectrasonics) bass guitar VST, but my question has sense for all bass guitar VST/soundbanks : is it possible to change the style of playing (example : doing a slide) while playing with a MIDI keyboard?

Do I have to stop playing, choose another preset in a dropdown menu, and then continue? Or is it possible to change the style during playing (this would be a lot more natural ;) )?

By the way, which bass guitar VST / soundbanks would you recommand?

Thanks!

Kontakt scar bee has a unique scripting thing where you can slide to other notes by holding your sustain pedal.

being able to change articulations on the fly by pressing another key is referred to as "key switching".

Trilian is one of the best and most comprehensive VST bass instruments.

Yes, I agree : Trilian seems very interesting ! (But 34 GB is 10 times too much for me, I unfortunately don't have 30 GB for each instrument.)
Do you know some other VST that allows articulation changing on the fly, "key switching" ?

Thanks.

PS : does Trilogy allow "key switching" ?

Broomstick Bass VSTi does what you want using the upper key range as modifiers. Not brilliant sound wise when compared to Trilogy but has that 'live' play control you desire. Pretty cheap too!
