multiple-track warping

Post by nc2010 » Thu Jun 13, 2013 3:05 pm

Hello,

I know the multiple-track warping trick :
Select 4 tracks (of the same length: very important) and then do your warping on this "master" track (=the last selected track)... then the warping of the slave track (the 3 other tracks) will be automatically the same.

This is very very very useful !!! :)

---

My problem is the following : I have done the simultaneous warping of 4 tracks with the previous method. Great. I have spent an hour on this in order to do it very precisely. Great.
Now I receive a 5th track (of the same length) of the same song. How can I import the warp points from track 1-2-3-4 to track 5 ?

Thanks in advance,

Set one of the tracks as master again. Like it up. Then activate Warp on the new track.

I tried several things in this direction, but it doesn't work.

Could you explain a bit more ?

Thanks in advance!

and it would be cool to be able to warp together clips that don't have the same length ! (it seems that live consider as same length the original length (unwarped-unedited) even if it has the same 2bars (for example) selection...this is a drag.

useless tip: you could always use Live 7 - it had copy-pasting of warp markers between audio clips.
feature was dropped in Live 8 to make way for the new warping system though :?

has someone an idea?

it would be useful, when you have already warped very precisely some tracks (it is sometimes a long task), to be able to copy/paste the warp points to another track!

I can't find a solution, but I can't imagine it is impossible with ABleton live!

Help ;) I really need a solution ..... I have warped lots of tracks, and now I need to have exactly the same warping for another track... Re-doing it again will be too long...

Thanks!

When you tried my method, did you

a. Make sure that auto warping is off in preferences.

b. Before opening Live, track down that specific file and delete Live's reference file to it.

?

I just noticed I typed Like instead of Line haha.

Anyway,

Having the already warped clips up in Arrangement View. Set one of them as the Master tempo. This makes Live follow the warp markers from that clip.

Add the new clip below it and line it up to the already warped tracks. Make sure the new clip is not warped yet. And did not have a clip file for it beforehand.

Then turn warp on for that track. I'd assume that it would add the markers according to the master tempo?

Thanks yur2die4 for your message! What do you mean by "Set one of them as the master tempo"? How to set an already warped clip as Master tempo?

I can't find it here:
